Valentine's "A"

I tried to make this a "special" day. but I had to work!

You may be noticing a trend here... two holidays and I am on shift...
This is the hidden "bone" of being on A-shift.
50% of ALL holidays fall on an A-shift.

This Phenomenon is due to Leap Year
One extra day every fourth year.
Divide this by three shifts...
and someone gets screwed!

I don't mind it really,
Dawn on the other hand.
well that is another story...She minds.
Because in addition to the holidays it also affects our birthday's.
I will also work 50% of those.

This shift was Delightfully Quiet.

Sure there were the Chest pains and falls.
But none of the Crap that usually comes with a holiday.

It would seem that on a day full of love.
There would be someone with a broken heart and bad intentions.
But thankfully not this time.
(am I crazy for trying to categorize calls by holiday?)

As with all "special" holidays our Neighbors brought is a cake.

The folks who live next to the station bring a "treat" every holiday
This time it was a box of chocolate and a cake.
We have all contributed to a fund to buy gift certificates
so that the whole family can enjoy dinner at a restaurant,
our "Treat" for a change.

After work...
I set out to do some fund raising for E.T.F.D.
and our upcoming Steak Fry.
I had Mixed results but at least I didn't get any flat out "No"'s
The residents of the township with whom I spoke today were
All  glad to hear that we (E.T.F.D.)were finally becoming a paramedic service.
Which was accomplished after a long hard fight,
which was won at the end of last year!

But thats a story for another day.
