I'm Sick...

Being sick sucks!

Being sick at work sucks, but at least I'm getting paid.

Today was the first day of the
Elyria Fire Dept. physical agility test.
(in which I will be participating tomorrow Hopefully I will not still be sick)

Ken and I were sent there for the first half
and although it is a tough test
no one needed any medical attention.
This is good,
last year healthy hopeful future firemen
were falling out like flies at the bug light.

We were relieved for lunch
and 93 covered the rest of the event
without any difficulty.

The last few days the Hospital has seen
several Young Cardiac arrest patients.
33 years old , 43 years old and today
a 49 year old Corrections officer from the county jail.

This C.O lived and was doing well last I heard
due in no small part to the early C.P.R.
deliverd to him by one of his fellow gaurds
(and former Lifecare EMT and E.T.F.D. firefighter)
Jason Shelton
93 Did a great job Delivering ACLS and defibrilation,
But Jason was the difference to this man's survival.

Learn C.P.R. if you can,
and if you work in a facility
with any type of on site medical office
encourage them to invest in an A.E.D.
these can mean the difference
in the survival of one of your friends or co workers.
No shit!

Hey I have to get some rest,
so I can pass the E.F.D. agility test tomorrow.

I am still sick you know but that would be no excuse!

Good night.
