Our Old House
We lived at 30880 Tidewater for over 13
years. No kids. No real connections. Just a comfortable
place to live. It had the rooms we needed - bedroom, kitchen, living
room, office and spare room. We added this and that as the years
passed - a jacuzzi to relax in; a dining room to entertain in;
and of course the back yard.
The backyard. It's very hard to explain
what it means to have a yard like we have. I love mowing the lawn.
I nearly cry when the gophers kill my string beans. I cry for joy
when I kill the snails that are eating my lettuce. Pruning is exercise.
Giving away lemons is a pleasure. I guess I'm a farmer and chef at
heart.
We have made this house into a small paradise.
We'll do the same with our next house. But thirteen years is a long
time to live in one place, so here is a little pictorial - the things we've
done to (and seen at) 30880 Tidewater Drive, Union City
It
sure looked nice
The
original backyard
From
the master bedroom - no trees and no houses
A
little TLC and a lot of hard work
New
landscape
More
trees (and houses)
The
addition - a pretty dining room
The
way it is now - it is very tough to leave
A
pretty house that is us.
