| My Story I was born on June 11 at 11:35 pm. I was 3 months premature and was 1 lb and 9 ounces.I was also born with Cerebral Palsey. A disease that causes back, balance , and leg problems. I stayed in the neo-natal intensive care unit at Johnson City Mdeical Center for 2 months and 2 days. Then it was time for me to come home and see my family. Geuss What???? They loved me. I had a heart murmer also so I was on a heart moniter. When I turned two I was sent to the Shriners Hospital For Children. They looked me over and decided I needed to ware braces on my legs to help with my walking. Then the year I turned five They put me in casts for two weeks so my legs could straighten up. Then the older I got the more they thought about what they could do to help me. So in January of 2001 I had my fist surgery. They did a lot to my legs. They moved some muscles around on the upper part of my legs, then they cut the bones into at the lower part of my legs. So they could turn my feet out, because they turned inward and I couldn't walk on my heels when I took a step. So that happened and then a year later I had another surgery to remove the pins from my bones and move some more muscle around. Now 3 and a half years later Im a happy-go-luckey kid. Who walks fine and nolonger wares braces...Thats pretty much my story from then till now. If I have new news Ill let you know. |
