| It is the treasure trove of memories that make a man immortal. In their retelling, the past and the present are linked together and in the process open the way to the future. Out cache of diaries, journals, yellowed letters, fading pictures, well-preserved souvenirs (of shells, dried flowers, well-creased ribbons and who knows what else?) reveal a whole life's narrative.
Memories are made more vivid when recalled in the company of families and friends. Even more so when the reminiscing is done by and among the creators of those memorable moments. It is in these moments too that the bonds of families and friends are strengthened and made indestructible.
In the reality of today's life, worsening economic situation makes work the necessary condition for survival rather than the fulfillment of man's humanity. Man is ever in danger of fragmenting himself to the point of losing himself altogether. Thus, touching base with one's roots, one's beginnings and regenerating one's soul from the source of its becoming would hopefully enable man to heal his fragmented being and face the world with renewed strength and hope.
It is for these reasons that we hold family reunions and alumni homecoming. So let this 61st alumni homecoming be the beginning of another treasure trove as we move onward to the 21st century. With vigor and hope, let the new chapter in our life's narrative unfold.
Onward, forward, Isabelina!
