Setting up A Free Web Site Using Geocities

l. GeoCities FREE........Web Hosting     "Sign in"
2. Don't have a Yahoo! ID?    "Sign up"
3. Fill in the Questions (be sure you write down your ID and Password)
         Your page will be called - your "ID name". Then "I agree."
4. GeoCities FREE - pick ads you don't mind having on your site.
5. BUILD YOUR OWN WEB SITE NOW   (write down your "home page address")
6. Click on - "Create & Update tab, then "Yahoo Pagebuilder"
7. Click on - Launch pagebuilder (takes time - be sure to allow Pop-ups.)
8. New   (this is in the top left corner of your screen)
9. Click on the "Pictures box"
          Upload
          Browse
          Choose photo - Open - Then Upload
          In "Picture List", Choose "User Files", Click on picture you want, then OK at bottom of Box
10. Go to "add ons"
           Background - Pick a color on Picture Preview or one in the "Background" list. Go to Generic or
                                                                                                                              others.
           Color that best matches your photos, It can be changed at anytime.
           OK
11. Go to Text
           Double click in text box
           Adjust size, font, where positioned, color
12. Save - calling your first page "index"
            After you save the page, it asks to if you want to see it, good idea to do that!
13. Go to new page and repeat
14. To connect pages, go to the first page
           Add-ons
           Buttons
               then double click the Buttons in the box
           Generics
           Choose button
           Link to a location
                My page
                Choose (name of page to link)
                Highlight
                OK
SAVE - SAVE - SAVE     then Save again!

To get back on-line another time to edit your page:          geocities.yahoo.com

If at anytime you loose the page you are working on - look for the "Yahoo! PageBuilder 2...."
      at the bottom of the page, and click on that bar. The page should return.

Go to - geocities.com

Have your pictures ready, cropped, sized to 300 pixtels, and in a file you can find easily.
