| SPREADSHEET A SPREADSHEET IS AN ELECTRONIC LEDGER PAD OR NOTEBOOK. It contains rows and columns, where you enter, arrange, calculate and analyze data. 1. Create a spreadsheet, using ROWS AND COLUMNS 2. Cell address 3. Simple spreadsheet � Use for a potluck to organize the attendees, what they are bringing, what each owes, etc. 4. Type in the headings for the columns � Format the columns and the rows 5. Type in the information 6. Type in formulas where needed You can use numbers, cell coordinates, or cell names for the values in formulas. For example, +A1 � 3 subtracts three from the value in cell A1 The rest of a formula appears in the cell. The formula appears in the input line when you select the cell and appears on the Application Bar when you are editing the entry. You can include spaces between operators and values, but Corel Quattro Pro deletes them when you click the checkmark button to complete the formula. A Formula must begin with one of the following characters: . + ( @ # $ = Quick Sum or input the formula 7. Fill in data as needed. 8. Print the spreadsheet, make sure you select print gridlines under page setup. To Sum a Column of Numbers Without Using Quick Sum 1. Move the curser to the cell that you want the total to be in � Left Click 2. Always use a Plus (+) sign, or minus sign (-) to start the formula. On the keyboard select the plus sign and Hit Shift+ 3. Enter what you want to do � Example Sum � Type in sum, the left parenthesis appears. Move the cursor past the left parenthesis. In most cases the lest parenthesis will appear�if not, do the next step. 4. Enclose the range of cells in parenthesis ( ). Hit the shift left (. Skip this step if left parenthesis appears. 5. Enter the cell address of the starting string of cells you want to add. Example C2. 6. Then enter at least 2 periods. Enter.. This lets the computer know that you want to sum a string of numbers. 7. Enter the last cell address that you want to add. Example � C64. 8. Enter your closing parenthesis. Hit ). The color of the parenthesis is now green. 9. Hit the enter key. You now have a sum for the range of numbers selected. |
