Graphics

Would you like to insert a Graphic?

- First, place your I-beam where you want the picture to appear.  Make sure you have a couple of lines of space available.  If you want the picture to be centered, go to the Formatting Toolbar and click on the page showing centered text.   Your I-beam will be centered.
- Go to the Menu Bar at the top and click on Insert.
- Click on Picture from the drop-down menu.
- Select, for example, Clip Artfrom the Picture drop-down menu.  The large Clip Art dialog box will appear.
- Select a category, e.g. Nature.  A dialog box showing you whaat is available will appear.
- Click on your choice.  A dialog box with four buttons will appear.  If you click on the top one showing a page with an arrow, Insert Clip, the graphic will be sent to your document in the space you selected with your I-beam.  The second button showing
a magnifying glass, Preview  Clip will show you a preview without sending it to your document.
- When it appears on your document, it may be too big or too small.
- Click on the picture.  A box will appear around the picture.  Place your cursor on any one of the black squares at the CORNERS until a black two-headed arrow appears.  Holding down the left clicker on that arrow, drag the corner out if you want a bigger picture or push the arrow in if you want it smaller.

- If you want the picture fatter, click and hold and drag either of the arrows that appear on the squares in the middle of the box around pictures sides.  If you want it to be thinner, push those arrows in.

- Doing the same with the squares at the center of either the top or bottom of the box will make the picture taller or squatter.

IF YOU MOVE YOUR CLICKER OUTSIDE THE BOX AND LEFT CLICK, THE BOX WILL DISAPPEAR.  CHANGE YOUR MIND?  CLICK ON THE PICTURE AND THE BOX WILL REAPPEAR.  YOU MAY CHANGE THE PICTURE AS OFTEN AS YOU LIKE.
