Pre/Post Game Files

Instructions

2003 SNAFU HOME

Receiving the Pre-Game File: When a coach receives his Pre-Game file, he must place it in his Receive folder located in the root directory of his Strat-O-Matic Football game (this applies to the League Commissioner as well). Once the Pre-Game file is in a coach’s Receive folder, he may launch the game (not the League Manager program) and play the game normally. Before play, a coach should coordinate the time at which he and his opponent will join up to play. NOTE: The Home Team coach should always “Host” the game, and the Visiting Team coach should always “Join” the game. This even applies to games restarted from saved game files. It’s absolutely necessary that the Host and Join player be the same each time a game is restarted in order to maintain statistical integrity for final game results. In other words, the original Host player should remain the host; likewise for the Join player.

IMPORTANT: It’s highly recommended that the Home Team coach (i.e., the Host player) have the in-game option “Auto Save After Each Play” (see the Strat-O-Matic Football Help file) turned on during Internet games. It’s always possible that a disconnection will occur, and thus the game can be restarted (if necessary) from the auto save file generated by this feature.

Post-Game Files (Located in the SEND Folder)

After a game is finished, a Post-Game file is created automatically and placed in a coach’s Send folder (which is located in the root directory of his Strat-O-Matic Football game). A Post-Game file contains the final score and statistics of that game.

Sending Post-Game Files: All Post-Game files must be sent to the League Commissioner for processing immediately follow the game.

The Home Team coach (the Host player) should be the one to send the Post-Game file to the Commissioner and Yahoo Group. A Post-Game file is generated for the Visiting Team (the Join player) as well, but it should not be sent to the Commissioner, as it is not necessary and might only cause confusion. The Visiting Team file does not always contain accurate information. If the game being played has been restarted from a saved game file, then the Visiting Team’s Post-Game file will not be accurate. Only the Home Team Post-Game file contains the full and accurate set of end game data.

HOST/HOME TEAM MUST send POST and HTML Files immediately after game to:
[email protected],[email protected]

The subject/remark section of your email should include the week, teams and score (example Re: Wk 2 Ten-10 vs Mia-17)
