The Crazy Science Fair Extravaganza plans to encourage learning for Ridgetop and Allison Elementary students.  These schools are diverse, inner-city schools of lower socio-economic standing.  We have chosen the third through fifth grade to ensure a lasting impact on their lives at an age where they are old enough to remember it and understand.  The majority of the children at Ridgetop and Allison are of Latin ethnicity. Many children speak English as their second language.  To address this, bilingual volunteers will be present to assist these children.  

The fair’s volunteers come from Tzedek Hillel in Austin, students attending the University of Texas at Austin, and other University organizations.  There will also be many adult volunteers and University science and mathematics professors assisting the event.
