Artists Prologue-

When I  was commissioned by post modernist artiste Ed Robson to do a piece about a group of hard-line telephone engineers I literally jumped at the chance, but when I started the work I found it didn't flow like my artistic visions usually do.  This one was strained like a hard lumpy shit.  However, shit out it was - kicking and screaming into a philistinic world dragging behind it the placenta of perception and afterbirth of vision, leaning only the brown stain of romance.

Combining surrealism; the way the four Vicks combine to conjure visions of the three blind sisters of Circe sharing themselves only one eye, yet luring the unwilling eye of the viewer to a sailors death, combined with the dark diffuseness of Matt's small bald head, plain yet poignantly contrasting wildly with a hairy yet almost religious chin bringing together a juxtaposotion of reality in the beholders eyes.

For surely a world in which the strong brain of Rayner can be combined with the frail body shell of Ga(y)vid is an odd place indeed which is where the merit, parameter and yes godliness (On first glance it would be Lee's hand, but alas, no, it is Jehova's!) of this particular piece lies.  For after all we are all mortal yet this picture, nay, painting, can help us strive to be much, much more.
