About 300 players competed in the 2004 Connecticut State Scholastic Championships held in Greenwich in January. 

 

The overall winner was 11th grader Ian Harris, who edge out 7th grader James Nitz.

 

The team championship was won for the 7th consecutive year by West Haven High School.

 

The primary section was won by Michael Chiang with a 6-0 score.  He resides in Scarsdale, NY so he did not receive a state title.
