cs_assault
- Welcome to cs_assault. One of the best maps, but I just can't find a good cs_assault server online. But anyway, it's one of the better maps you can play on in a LAN game, since it's a fair one. The idea is for the CT to go in and save the hostages, and the T's to prevent that from happening.
- Now let's start with the obvious, as a CT, you might have to go in from anyway possible to avoid contact with the T's so that you can get to the hostages before they can kill you. I'm explaining this on a 5 vs. 5 game. Keep that in mind. I'll explain what the CT's have to do first.
- First of all, on the first round, the five are to split into 3 teams, 2 up the vent, 2 at the door, and one on the building (fig 1) to snipe anybody coming out of the warehouse.

(fig 1) the building
- The 2 that will go up into the vent must walk only. It is important not to arouse suspicion that the 2 of you are up there until the last part. Be especially careful when walking in the vent. Try to get up into the other vent to the hostages (fig 2). From then on, the last man in the vent watch the back. Whoever comes up will be an easy target as they happen to be on a ladder. On a ladder, the aim is somehow distorted, so just be careful of lucky shots.

(fig 2)
- When near the grill, peep around to look for T's camping near it. If he isn't aware you two in the vent, give him a surprise by coming down on him with guns a blazing.
- By the time you hear gun fire, the 2 at the back door storm in and go up the ladder to get the height advantage. Up there, immediately storm to the hostage zone, taking pot shots at the opponent at the same time to prevent them from killing you. Once inside there, the 2 teams should merge, each one holding one hostage.
- Now is particularly dangerous to run out, rather, crouch and hug the wall the way out. Should you encounter any T's, either kill them, or make a mad dash down from up there, not caring about your health.
- The sniper should be full aware of what's happening, so for the sniper, be on full alert, don't go and let a T get out and jeopardize the mission. As for the 4-man team, once out, try jumping and strafing your way to the rescue zone immediately.
- After the rounds, you should vary your strategies, making it a bit hard to guess which strategy to use. You can rush from the vent and back door, you can have a 2 man sniper team on the bridge and a 3 man team in the vent, and you can just wait it out to see those unwary T's who venture out to get a slice of the killer pie.
- Now I shall explain the way to kick some CT behind.
- The idea here is now to go and seal the fate of the CT's, or at least prevent them from taking your hostages.
- What you do is, have one of your men go up into the vent, and wait patiently on the grill itself, crouching. Trust me, nothing scares a CT more than a waiting T on the grill.
- The next T should be waiting behind the container and next to the main gate, so that you can whack the CT on the head should he unwittingly come from the main gate.
- 2 T's should be on the catwalk, camping at the edge, to cover the front gate and the back door.
- The last T should either go up into the vent and onto the roof to snipe anyone, or else wait some where near the back door to pump lead into the oncoming CT.
- That's about the only advise needed for the T's... other variations include, hiding in the hostage room, rushing out to show no fear, 2 snipers on the roof /3 men guarding the warehouse.
- This takes care of both teams on this map. Good Luck doing your thing in the map.
