I would like to present helmets used by Czechoslovak soldiers and Civil Defence members since WWI till present. The period photos illustrates not only helmet types used by Czechs and Slovaks during almost 100 years but also concentrated view to Czechoslovak history. I hope that these photos would be interesting for helmet fans.

Czechoslovak vz. 29 (M29) helmet

These removable camouflage hoods are still in use together with current vz.97 helmet cover, winter 2005-2006.
US M1 helmet
In first half of the 50's US army decided to form special military gardian units in West Germany. The members of these units were refugees from middle and east Europa. So at 4. February 1952 was originated Czechoslovak guard company ( 4091st Labor Service Company - Czechoslovakian ) near town Norimberg. The company moved to area Idar-Oberstein in June 1952.The company was cancelled (decampment ?) in autumn 1964. The main task of this company was patrolling and guarding military objects and warehouses. New company - 222nd. Labor Service Company (Guard) was originated at 1. May 1965.
