Classification of Matter:
Pure Substance: Substances which have fixed a definite composition.
  
- Elements: Fundemental substances from which all matter are made.
  
- Examples: Oxygen, Carbon, Silver, Iron

  
- Compounds: Contain 2 or more elements combined in fixed proportions.
   - Examples: Water, Table Salt, Sugar

Mixtures: Substances with varying compositions.
  
- Homogeneous Mixtures: Solutions which have uniform compositions & appearance throughout.
  
- Examples: Sugar in water, 10K gold, gas, air
  
   - Heterogeneous Mixtures:
Mixtures which do not have uniform properties througout.
   - Examples: Dirt, Raisin Bread, Smarties, Fried Rice,
