| MARION - For more than 35 years, the Crazy Country Band has been rockin' Marion and beyond. From Elvis to Creedence Clearwater Revival from Merle Haggard to country pop music, the band plays music for everyone.
The Crazy Country Band was created by Dean Rinehart, Jim Arns and Bernie Rogers. Born in Pikeville, Ky., Rogers is the only original member remaining. He has played backup with many stars over the years which include the Imperials, the Supremes, Jackie Gleason, Hank Williams Jr., Bill Anderson, Wayne Cochran, CC Riders and the Syndicates. He also played in a 9 piece band called the Scarlets. Rogers plays bass guitar, piano, banjo and drums. He sings and plays bass for Crazy Country. Rounding out the band is Rick Devore, Bob Postell, Terry Poling and Paul Adkins. A Kenton native, Devore is the band's drummer. At the age of 14, he started playing in the school band. For years, Rick played with the staff band at the Frontier Ranch Amphitheater in Newark. One will appreciate his talent when you hear him play "Wipe Out." One of his favorite songs to play for his fans is "Old Time Rock and Roll." Postell was born and raised in Marion and graduated from Harding High School. He then served in the US Army in Vietnam 1967-1969 as a Sergeant E5. Postell started playing music at the age of 13. He played with a bluegrass band called Cripple Creek Boys for five years. He then moved to a band called Hard Times Country where he sang and played guitar for seven years. Postell started playing rhythm guitar and singing for Crazy Country about 14 years ago. He sings a wide variety of country songs by various artists. One of his recent additions to the band is the Josh Turner song "Your Man." Postell has a wonderful bass voice and does this song very well. Poling was born in Milford Center and played for the Whiskey River Country Band before joining Crazy Country. He sings and plays lead guitar for the band. Poling has a great voice and does a variety of songs fans request often. He also plays harmonica, banjo and mandolin. Poling has mastered the very special talent of yodeling. It is something one must hear to appreciate. Adkins is from Roundhead and began playing and singing at the age of 12. His first song was "Wildwood Flower." He entered the Air Force at age 17, was shipped to Japan where he and some buddies formed one of the many bands he has been in over the years. Adkins plays lead guitar and sings in a beautiful harmonic voice. One of his most requested songs is "Waltz of the Angels." His son is with the well known Texas band The Derailers.
