                                                          Review
Tommy Jarvis escapes from the mental institutions in which he has spent most of his adolescence. Along with his best friend, Allen Hawes, Tommy decides to return to Crystal Lake and put to rest once and for all the demons that have plagued his entire teenage life-- He is going to dig up Jason's grave and personally cremate Jason's rotting carcass.
They enter the Eternal Peace Cemetery, where Jason is buried, and dig up his grave. Once Tommy sees the corpse, he goes ballistic, repeatedly stabbing Jason with a piece of metal post that he rips off of the fence. But before they can torch his body, lightning strikes the piece of post, which brings Jason back to life. Jason, now revived, rips out Allen's heart, forcing Tommy to flee into town, while Jason makes his way back toward camp.
Tommy barges in to the Forest Green Sheriff's Department, where Tommy tries to explain the situation to Sheriff Mike Garris, but he will have none of it, citing that Jason is dead and that they changed the name of the town from Crystal Lake to Forest Green so that people can forget the horrible past.
Then Tommy tries to steal a shotgun to take matters into his own hands, forcing Sheriff Garris and Deputy Rick Cologne to throw him in jail for the night and then take him back to the institution the next morning.
Back at camp, Head counselors Darren and Lizabeth try to pass Jason on the road with their car, but Jason flattens their tires and then quickly kills them with the same piece of fencepost that revived him.
The next morning, Tommy wakes up and meets the other counselors, Megan (the sheriff's daughter), Cort, Sissy, and Paula. He tries to warn them about Jason, but the Sheriff tells them to forget about it and head to camp. So they leave, geniunely concerned. Sheriff Garris then tells Tommy that instead of waiting for the authorities to come get him, he is going to personally escort him out of town, never to be seen or heard from again.
Meanwhile, in the woods surrounding camp, five survivalists are embroiled in a harrowing game of paintball, when Jason makes a special guest appearance and quickly kills them all and gets some new weaponry-- a new machete, arrows, and a few knives.
Back at camp, the counselors prepare for the arrival of the children, when they discuss the Voorhees legend and if it were true. After scaring each other about it, the children arrive, and without the head counselors, they are forced to start on their own.
On the other side of town, Sheriff Garris is escorting Tommy out of town, when Tommy realizes that they are near the Eternal Peace Cemetery. At the last second, Tommy hangs a sharp left and pulls into the cemetery, where he tries to show them that they dug up Jason's grave. However, the caretaker of the cemetery saw the open grave the night before and covered it back over, so Tommy is screwed, as Sheriff Garris handcuffs him and takes him to the town line, where he drops him off and tells him never to return.
Tommy, not listening to the Sheriff's orders, heads back into town to warn everybody about the impending danger.
Meanwhile, Cort runs off with his girlfriend Nikki for a rendez-vous in Nikki's stepfather's RV. While they are enjoying themselves, Jason cuts the power to the RV and when they come outside to check it out, Jason boards the RV and hides in the bathroom. Seeing or hearing nothing, they decide to get the hell out of Dodge and drive off down the road. With Cort speeding, Nikki flies around in the back, before Jason grabs her and pulls her into the bathroom, smashing her face into the wall. Cort, not hearing any of it because of the radio being turned all the way up, thinks nothing of it and keeps driving. Jason slowly exits the bathroom and sneaks up on Cort and sticks a hunting knife in his head, causing the RV to flip over. Undeterred, Jason climbs out of the RV and heads back toward camp.
Police soon find the bodies of Darren and Lizabeth, as well as parts of the survivalists. Sheriff Garris accuses Tommy of the murders and puts out an All-Points Bulletin to capture Tommy. Megan, however, believes Tommy and agrees to help him get the supplies he needs for his "plan" to eliminate Jason once and for all. But, on their way to camp, they run into a road block and Tommy is again arrested.
A phone call soon arrives at camp, and Sheriff Garris is informed of Cort and Nikki's murders. Sheriff Garris, convinced its Tommy responsible, keeps Deputy Rick in charge and grounds Megan. But when Sheriff Garris tells them what time it happened, Megan tells him that Tommy was with her all that time. Confused, Sheriff Garris heads out to the scene.
Getting restless, Megan helps Tommy escape from jail and they lock up Deputy Rick. Heading back to camp, they fear they are too late and speed it up a lot to get there hopefully in time to save the others.
Back at camp, Jason arrives, rips off Sissy's head, and re-paints the main cabin blood-red with Paula. The police then arrive at camp and decide to search the place. They split up and look around. Sheriff Garris finds the bloody cabin, and immediately goes to check the kids. All except one, young Nancy, who is aware of Jason's presence, are fast asleep in their beds. Sheriff Garris then leaves to go look for Nancy.
Down at the dock, Officer Thornton is killed when Jason throws an arrow into his head with skilled accuracy. Soon after, Nancy runs into Officer Pappas, whom she tells about a "scary man," and then all of a sudden, Jason appears and crushed Officer Pappas' head with his bare hands. Nancy runs off.
Then Nancy runs into Sheriff Garris, who tells her it will be alright. Sheriff Garris then notices that all of the children are awake. He combines them into one cabin and tells them to hide under the beds, which they all do. Soon after, Sheriff Garris trips over Officer Pappas' body and then backs into Jason, who is poised and ready with his machete. Sheriff Garris empties his shotgun into Jason, but Jason keeps getting up. He then pulls out his last weapon, his high-powered pistol, and also empties it into Jason, including a good shot to the head. Seeing no results, Sheriff Garris is forced to run into the woods, with Jason in hot pursuit.
At the same time, Tommy and Megan arrive at camp and discover the bloody cabin, as well as the body of Officer Thornton at the lake. When Megan starts to call out to her dad, Jason hears her, and starts to head back to camp. Sheriff Garris, who was in hiding, emerges and attacks Jason from behind. Jason overpowers him, however, and breaks him in half before heading back toward camp.
Jason busts into the children's cabin and causes havoc. Tommy heads out into the middle of the lake alone, and Megan, hearing the kids screams, heads to the cagbin to help them out. However, Jason emerges from a window and starts to choke her. Then Tommy calls to Jason, hoping to lure him away from Megan and the kids. With Tommy alone in the boat, Jason heads into the lake, and then vanishes under the water. Who would survive this, the final battle between Tommy and Jason?
