                                                             Plot
Tommy, the young boy who finally killed hockey-masked murderer Jason Voorhees in Part 5, has grown up and is now spending time in a home for the mentally fragile. Not long after Tommy checks in though, someone starts killing the patients one-by-one. Has Tommy picked up where the legendary serial killer left off or has Jason come back from beyond the grave to kill again?

                                                       Review
Twelve-year-old Tommy Jarvis walks through the woods in a heavy thunderstorm, watching in horror as two youngsters dig up Jason's grave. All of a sudden, Jason revives and quickly kills the two youngsters before turning to Tommy and raising his machete high above his head...
Just then, Tommy, now a teenager, awakes and, soaked with sweat, realizes where he is and that is was just a dream. Tommy is being transported from the Unger Institute of Mental Health to Pinehurst, a halfway house for troubled teens. Tommy is brought in to Dr. Matt Leonard's office, where he explains to Tommy that there are no guards at Pinehurst and everything is run on an honor system. The intention is to prepare the patients to re-enter society. Tommy then moves in and gets acquainted with young Reggie, whose grandfather George cooks at the house.
Soon after, Sheriff Tucker and Deputy Dodd return patients Tina and Eddie to Pinehurst with Ethel and "Junior" Hubbard, who own the adjoining property, hot on their tails. The foul-mouthed Ethel complains about the kids and the facility and wants it shut down because too many of them were skipping over to her property and having sex. After saying a few choice words for all, Ethel and Junior depart and Sheriff Tucker gives Matt a warning.
Later on, all of Ethel's fears come true, as the anti-social Vic slices up Joey with an ax because Joey offered him a chocolate bar. Vic is arrested and the ambulance attendants, Duke Johnson and Roy Burns, take Joey's body away.
That night, the trouble begins. Two teenagers, Vinnie and Pete, whose car trouble, are viciously murdered with a road flare and machete, respectively.
The next morning, Tommy's hallucinations continue. This time, he visions Jason standing right behind him with an ax. Then, at breakfast, Tommy gets scared by Eddie, who wore one of his masks. Flipping out, Tommy beats Eddie senseless and has to be restrained by Matt. Has Tommy become the very killer he fears? Or has Jason indeed risen from the grave?
The murders continue later that night. This time Lana, a waitress in town, and her boyfriend Billy, the mental worker who dropped Tommy off, are hacked up with an ax.
Disregarding orders the next morning, patients Tina and Eddie sneak off into the woods for another illicit rendez-vous at the Hubbard's, and don't come back. A drifter, who shows up at Ethel's house looking for work, is also murdered by the killer.
Later on, Pam drives Reggie to see his brother Demon in the trailer park and Tommy goes along to get some "fresh air." Reggie and Demon catch up on old times and Junior shows up and starts to nag Tommy. Tommy once again snaps and beats Junior to within an inch of his life. After being stopped by Pam, Tommy runs off into the woods, Pam and Reggie return to the house, and Demon and his girlfriend Anita are killed.
A few moments later, Junior returns to his house and complains to his mother what Tommy did to him, and then gets his head chopped off while riding his motorcycle. Ethel, on the other hand, hears none of it, and as a result, becomes part of her stew.
Pam and Reggie return to the house, where Jake tells them that Matt and George went out to look for Tina and Eddie. Concerned, Pam leaves Reggie at the house to go to bed, and goes out as well to look for any or all of them.
Meanwhile, at the house, Jake, Robin and Violet are killed as Reggie sleeps tight on the living room couch. When he gets up, Reggie finds their bodies in Tommy's room and reports to Pam, who just returns to the house with no luck finding anybody.
Soon, they both run into a hockey-masked killer who chases them into the woods, where they find ambulance driver Duke Johnson butchered in his ambulance. Fleeing deeper into the woods, Reggie takes off, and Pam returns to the house, where she finds Matt and George dead in the woods along the way. Pam again flees the house, but slips on mud and the killer is just about to slice her up with a machete, when Reggie runs into the killer with a tractor and sends him sprawling backward. When they move in to check it out, the killer revives and chases them into the barn, when Tommy arrives at the barn.
With Tommy's mind unstable and the killer closing in, would this be Tommy's final chapter or would this truly be a new beginning for the killer?
