| Noire is, simply put, Death. Yes, with a capital letter. She is the immortal responsible for the transportation of souls to their proper afterlives. Throughout history she has been Death's Handmaiden, aiding, but her sister, the first Death, has succumbed to the questions that plague the position, and has gone elsewhere. Noire is not sure where or why her sister has departed from the job, but the creators of the universe have promoted her, and it is not in her nature to ask questions of them. Mortals, however, are another matter entirely. Noire comes to the realms of Hiddenworld to better understand mortals. She doesn't understand why some souls are unwilling to move on and need her help. She thinks if she understands mortals better, she can make the transition for mortal souls easier. |
