A balance of two souls
Both were born to the higher noble ranks in the great city of Durus, and grew up in the shadows of the Emperor's court. Both found the court life less than satisifactory, but for different reasons. Garrick looked at the fetes and intrigues with bewildered fright, while Moira's attitude was distainful. For both of them the court was not an end, or even always a means to an end, so naturally they let their talents flow elsewhere.
For Garrick, that elsewhere was the Priesthood. Always having been of a mystical and otherworldly bent, Garrick found in the arms of his God a sense of peace, and his true callings, those of Healer and Scholar. He followed the path of light and life into the Gardens of his home Monestary and could think of nothing better than the vast libraries and charity work.
Moira, however, was anything but priestly. Instead of following the path of her brother, she delved into the deeper realms of human life. She admired the intrigues played by her peers, but found them base and amature on most levels. So she found another medium, one that served her well. She, who, unlike her pacifist brother, craved things martial with a covert eye since a small child, sent her hand into the realms of death instead of life. Simply put, Moira became an assassin. She figured it was a step up from the rumor mills and backbiting. Killing a body was more humane than killing their reputation.
Linked by mind and soul, the two have made their way into the realms of Hiddenworld for different reasons. Moira came to flee heat over some of her latest work and found in Hiddenworld, a place even more disreputable than High Court. Garrick came to aid his wounded sister, but found that with such depravity, great charity could be done. So in Hiddenworld they remain...
