Portrait of a Mercenary:
Jeska of Wirewood
    Jeska was the black sheep of her family.Her mother was a mage, although not a grand one. all her siblings were mages of varying potential. And her father was the well known Merali of Wirewood, one of the most powerful mages of his time. But Jeska had no magic powers, although her exposure to magic and her elven heritege gave her the benefit of the ability to sense when magic was present. Instead she took the path of the warrior, of the Mercenary.
     So when she was 18, after learning all she could from private armsmasters, she left her home deep in the Wirewood forest and came to the large elven city of Terra. There she hired on with a mercenary company, and spent the next 10 years of her life traveling from place to place and fighting for the highest bidder. In the company she learned things that her armsmasters had no idea of, things like leadership, and the high quality tracking abilities of a scout. By the time she was 25 she was the Scoutmaster for her company.
     However, when the other officers decided to retire, all closely together, the company fell to shambles and at age 28 Jeska decided to set out as a free lancer, going solo. With her final payment she set out to see the world through the eyes of a freelance mercenary.
     Life was not near as easy for Jeska on her own as it had been in the company. within a short period of time she found herself near penniless and in the province of Feldar.
My first version of Jeska. This is probably early on in her mercenary career. the one below is the pic i "borrowed" for this char.
