When she came to Blue Mountian she was given a staff, needed, according to the mages to use the full extent of her power. Not realizing that the sprite trapped in the malachite capstone was there as a slave, she freed it, shocked that it would be so trapped. The creature inside it, an Earth elemental by the name of Trian, vowed to be her servant because she had freed him, but she considers and treats him like a close friend, much to his amusement.
Despite being at blue mountian since she was a babe in arms, Cecelia is still an apprentice, although she deserves a higher status, the stigma of her coloring and her sex and slight stature still hold sway with the elders. She hopes she will be able to prove to them that she is worthy of advancement.
