Shattered Ivory and Lace

Upon his death
she began to cry.
The pains so great
she only wants to die.

In the tattered dress
of ivory and lace.
Dewdroplets fall
from her face.

A shattered glass
after one last embrace.
The years pass slow
in this empty place.

Now in their house
she still sits alone.
No more laughter around,
sorrow and grief known.

A happy life, now debris
from a fated wedding day.
That was not meant to be,
as time fades away...
