The right to life is every baby's birthright. No one should be allowed to take that from them. Why is it that so many helpless, innocent little ones are left abandoned to freeze or starve to death, or killed by their own parents, when there are so many out there who would give everything they own to hold a baby in their arms? How could someone be so heartless as to carry a living being inside her body for so long and then dump this precious gift from God into a trash can? Have people gone insane and forgotten the hundreds of thousands on waiting lists who are aching for a child and CAN'T have one of their own??
There is little comfort in knowing that these women, when caught, do face criminal charges. But what about that poor little person who has no choice?
A poem tore at my heart and I thought I should share it. You have to highlight the words to read it....but please do.
National Right to Life...
Why would any civilized state in this country allow something as horrible as a partial-birth abortion? It is comforting to know that there are legislators out there fighting to ban this travesty and medical experts who attest to the basic needlessness of it. (I realize that in extreme situations a child has no chance of any kind of quality life. I can't come up with an argument or a solution for that. But in my research I've found that most of these are done on normal or only SLIGHTLY impaired babies and sometimes for the most ridiculous reasons - "depression"? I myself have bipolar disorder (manic depression) AND three beautiful, healthy children, all three born at times in my life when I could least afford a child, but without whom my life would not be complete).
I don't protest outside abortion clinics nor do I condone the bombing of such clinics. However, I do support the NRLC and what they and certain legislators are trying to do to curtail this needless tragedy. What is needed is the support of more voting citizens like me...and you...to support their efforts and help to make the bill a law.
Love our children.....
