R-U-NU-TU Rainbow and Gatherings?

If you are then I'd like to say:

WELCOMEHOME New:) and old Family alike!

Sometimes it is easier to say what the "Rainbow Family of Living Light"
is ~not~, rather than describe what it is.)

It is ~not~ an organization, club, religion or cult.  There are
~NO~ leaders, membership dues or organizational body.

It is just a bunch of like minded individuals, who gather annually
the First Week of July (the 4th is the big day.) to PRAY for WORLD
PEACE and HEALING.

Some come earlier for "seed camp" (preparation) and others stay a
little later for clean up(restoration)!

If you are new to Rainbow, the Gatherings are a Non-commercial,
(no vending)
Free(no charge) and Spiritual Event that is open to the All!

All it takes to be a Rainbow is a heartbeat!

Folks that call themselves Rainbow come from all walks of life,
socio/economic and religious beliefs.  The one thing we have in
common is that we gather, annually somewhere on public land
(nat'l forest) to pray for peace and healing.

This is a Spiritual Event and there is a voluntary silence observed,
from dawn til noon on the 4th of July.

This time is set aside as we celebrate our *Interdependence*!  The
dawn to noon silence is honored that all who wish to, may pray,
vision, contemplate, or meditate for a World at Peace and Healing,
in their own individual way.

Ask anyone person why they go and you will get as many different
answers, as the number of folks you ask.

In order to be a Rainbow Gathering, it must be Free Non-commercial
and open to All.

It is an anarchy.  Decision making is done in council, by consensus
and the only rule is respect.  Respect for each other and the Mother
is how we function best.)

On a local level, what are known as Regional Gatherings happen
sporadically and some even regularily around the country, at various
times of the yr.  One may be happening near you, in the not to
distant future:)

For local happenings, you can check the nearest lightline or website
listed at the end of this post.

We also get together for a Thanksgiving Council and a Spring Council
annually, to make plans for the next Gathering.

These events are not "Gatherings" per se, but are working councils
for planning and decision making. All are invited to council and to
participate.  For many folks, their first experience with Rainbow
is one of these councils.

No one individual speaks for the whole (myself included.)

*Beware* of anyone who claims to be in charge.  We are all equal
when it comes to decision making.  There are folks who like to
keep info flowing and they are called focalizers.

Some folks are just more visible than others.  In no way should
they be mistaken for leaders, while volunteering there energy, to
keep us informed.

For more in info on Rainbow check out the unofficial homepage:

It's called unofficial because it is not done through the council
process, but rather an individual's effort.  It is the oldest and
most complete source of info on line.

You will find a link there, for related rainbow events and a calendar.
There is also a list of "Lightlines" (hotlines), like the one below.
There is plenty of Rainbow Hipstory and information about the "REGS"
and why "We Don't Sign Permits".........

The same brother that does the web site has made this unmoderated
newsgroup (agr) available for us to chat on.(we luv you Rob).

You may want to subscribe to alt.gathering.rainbow, it does make it
easier, to get it in email.

To subscribe send an email to:

[email protected], no subject is required and
the body of the message should read:  Subscribe gathering and your
email address

Stay tuned! You will see us laughing, crying, playing, praying and
even flaming away, on just about any topic you can imagine.

Many of us are regular gatherers and find this to be another
gathering of sorts (cybercircle.) albeit electronic!
Some of us have never been to a gathering, other than this one.

Jump right in, the electrons are fine!  Kick back and get comfy.
Afterall you are Home now.)

There is a directory of names and addresses of those wishing to be
listed called the Rainbow Guide.  You can obtain a copy of by
