| What is an RP? RP stands for radio play. Think back to the time when radios were brand new things. Everyone would sit around and listen to stories. Thats what an RP is. Its actors putting on a show that can only be heard. What is a VA? VA stands for voice actor. Basically these are the people who do the voices in an RP. How do I join an RP? Basically, you need to have a mic, and a voice. You go to a site and you say the audition lines and then you send them to whoever is directing/producing the script. What if I wanna make an RP? First, you need a script. You can either submit it to a site to be made or you can make it yourself. (NOTE: If you do it yourself you will need a mixing program to put the lines together.) Once you have a script, you need to hold auditions, so VAs can try-out and you can choose voices that fit your characters. When you have your characters you need to get them the script. They record and send thier lines back to you, and you mix them to make the project complete. How do I audition VAs? Well, usually what happens is, you choose significant lines in the script. One's that will help you see the skill of the VAs who will be trying out, or one's that will help define the character. For example, a common audtion line for a Sailor Moon RPs would be an attack. Mars Fire Ignite for instance. By using this as an audition line you can see how far a VA is willing to go. Do they shout it out with energy or do it in a forced whisper? Stuff like this will help you choose a character. If you want to do a musical in which the characters will sing......you might want to do a singing audition as well. For this kind of audition it is customary to give the auditionees a karaoke song to sing.....but you may choose whatever you think will work. Basically its just like any other audition only it is with song. |
