*The agency is only open from dusk til dawn for clients to come in for consultation. Don't be ashamed, we've all been in uncomfortable situations before. The client (who is encouraged to come in disguise if it makes them less apprehensive) tells the masked agent on duty, who sits in a darkened, screened cage on the opposite side of a wall, just what the trouble is, providing basic information on the situation, and the client leaves under cover of darkness, free to shed their disguise and go on their way.
And then it begins.
The informants begin collecting information in a discreet, understated fashion; quickly and methodically they work, being your eyes and ears. NEVER will an agent disclose that they are affiliated with you (The agent might even be someone close to you, yet you don't know it)..and in record time, the case will be pieced together.
If evidence shows you are endangered, executive protection by armed guards will be provided for you until the threat is negated.
Logs of agents' reports as well as information gathered will, upon completion of the investigation, be shared with you, giving you your answers.
Payment for an investigation is 100gp/day maximum. You might be pleasantly surprised if your bill is much less.
To become an informant:
*Register with the agency. Not everyone who applies can be taken on as an informant, but you will be called upon as-needed. NEVER will we divulge your identity to our clients or the public, nor will you know precisely whom the head of the agency is.
*Await the scroll. In applying with the agency, give a valid scroll (e-mail) address, and be ready to go out on these secret jobs, to quietly right wrongs and locate vital information.
Applicants must be trustworthy, stealthy, discreet and be prepared with explanations to their families and friends about sudden riches. The agency pays handsomely, above and beyond fees taken in. Why? To ensure that quality underlies the investigation. The creator of the agency, an anonymous benefactor, has filled the coffers with enough gold to pay agents for at least three years. When replenishment time comes, the creator has committed to refilling them anew.
