You step into the shoppe and glance around. You are surrounded, it would seem, by mariner's gearhourglasses, compasses, starcharts, seamaps, and other such normally found aboard ships. Hanging on the walls beside charts and maps are blueprints for all sorts of vessels, great and small. Canoes to caravals, all manner are there. Your attention is drawn to a back door leading to a separate room as the manager enters from there.

"Hallo," a colonist you might know as Sylverleaf Vanidar greets. "Lookin' for a boat, I suspect? Well, come, come. Lemme show ya about." He draws you away from the wall blueprints, dismissing them as 'children's drawings' and leads you into the back. The entire room, top to bottom, is covered in blueprints. "Well," he says. "Here 'r' yer choices. I'l be up front if ya decide on which one ya want."

Small boats:
Curragh - The lightest wooden vessel built here. With a simple wooden frame covered in tarred hide, it doesn't look very tough, but can take a surprisingly large amount of abuse by the sea. Good for fishing excursions and short pleasure trips out to sea. 300 gp

Canoe - Two varieties: First; the wooden canoe, made from a log hollowed by burning. 'Tis good for swift journies by water, and will hold quite a bit of weght for a small craft. Long, thin, and powered by oars. 300 gp. Second; The reed canoe, made of painstakingly woven papyrus reeds, suitable for short fishing trips on calmer waters. Will hold quite a bit of weight, but, as with the wooden canoe, can be swamped by to much weight. 300 gp.

Dinghy - The classic small boat. a good 'workhorse'. All-wood construction, powered by oars. Good for all sorts of tasks, from fishing to rescues in shallow waters. Takes a beating, and holds quite a bit. 350 gp, or 100 gp when requested with a larger vessel (life-boat).

Small sail boat - The perfect pleasurecraft, made for those days when the wind gently curls about the sails and whisks you slowly across the water. Wooden construction, with hull and sails coloured to the buyer's preferance. 450 gp.

Medium Vessels
Sloop - Around eighty feet long and fifteen to twenty feet wide, this is a speedy, sail-powered craft made for swift travel over distances both long and short. It resembles a miniature version of the longships used by raiders of yore, and is made of a sturdy wodden construction. It has a single cabin, normally reserved for the captain and/or his family or consort. Below is a small hold with room for a month's rations for the full-sized crew. 1000 gp.

Kravel - Resembling a floating half-walnut shell, this vessel is a far cry from the sloop. It is made for long distance travel and ferrying goods or people from point A to point B. A good small-time traders vessel. Due to its hold capacity, it can carry double the rations of a sloop while leaving enough room for the cargo. A good deal, at 800 gp.

Mid-sized sail boat - A larger version of the small sail boat, built, usually, for the same reasons. It also makes a good fishing vessel. Like the small sail boat, the owner gets to choose both hull and sail colours. If no colours are specified, then sky blue shall be used for the sail, and a deep cerulean for the hull. 1200 gp.

Large Ships
Most large ships are built to specifications given to the craftsmen. Ships built in such a manner will, first, be haggled over. Only after the price is set will the ship be built. However, there are blueprints for a number of large vessels..

Longship - The vessel of warriors, powered by both oars and sails. A full two-hundred feet long and thirty-five wide. A baker's dozen (thirteen..) oars on either side can propell the boat forward and backward, as well as turn it depending on the skill of the crew. On a fine and gusty day, the oars can be shipped in and the sails can be set. Two masts, raked back at slight angles, carrying blood-red (unless otherwise specified) sails. At the fore of the ship is carved a Dragon's head, and at the aft, the tail, giving these ships the nickname 'Dragonships'. 4000 gp.

Yacht - The rich man's boat. Mostly built to specifications, but all will come with sails and will be large enough to carry a sizable party, or an at-sea faire. Use your imagination when ordering..but don't get carried away. The price will be settled ere building, depending on size, the buyer's funds, and the labour estimated to be required.

Large Kravel - Twice the size of a normal kravel, this is the ship standard to big-time merchants' trading fleets. Rations for a four month journey on full crew, with room in the hold for all the spices, meats, fish, gold, or other such you could wish to carry. Many -successful- merchants tend to buy ne, and compliment it with smaller kravels. Powered by three masts bristling with sails. 4000 gp.

You nod to Sylverleaf and the craftsmen on your way out, deciding today isn't the day to be buying some class of boat...
Or you decide to buy yourself a craft...

Requirements: Please include: Ship, colours, cost, character name. If you are requesting a ship built to you own specifications, include these, and your own estimation of the cost.
