Do you like to explore, journey, quest? Do you like facing danger, staring it down in its cold eyes, coming closer than you'd be comfortable with Death, and come back not only alive, but thriving, perhaps with loads of gold or artifacts? Can you commit to spending time on other parts of the Isle, away from the comforts of the Pleasuredome, and truly 'rough it'?

If so, the Exploration Society may be for you. Note: This is -not- a Guild, but rather, a society of the likeminded who wish to band together on adventures, in the belief that there is not only safety in numbers, but camraderie and intelligence. Members may be transient or committed; do note that Transient Members will be afforded protections of courtesy and shares of temporary profits, but not those listed as future potential goals below.

--What the Exploration Society Does:

  • Conducting Expeditions to uncharted areas of the island as well as abroad
  • Producing detailed accounts and illustrations on quality parchment in a timely manner
  • Work as a team, to protect one another, a Medieval 'buddy system' of sorts.

    • --Information of Interest to Prospective Members:

  • Claiming new territories in the name of the Exploration Society may lead to future colonizations, opportunities for gold and trade with the citizenry of these lands, and alliances to our Isle. Doesn't hurt to have good relations with neighbors near and afar.
  • The Society's future goal is also to claim several routes to Crystal Shores, in the Society's Name, to keep a steady income filtering in through Tollbridges on the waterway.

    • --Chain of Command:--

  • The Leader is the Head of the Organization.

    • Assistant Leader becomes Leader in case of emergency or Leader's death.
  • The Information Officer is responsible/in charge of producing and checking accuracy and detail of accounts and illustrations. He/she leads a segment of the members, those being the artisans.
  • Field Commander organizes supplies and members to join the next Quests, ensuring there's enough food to go around for up to a month, and delegates responsibility.

    • Two other Society positions are that of the Treasurer and Secretary.

  • The Treasurer is in charge of maintaining and accounting for the Society's funds, preparing and delivering monthly financial statements.
  • The Secretary documents all of the Society's excursions.

    The Silver Seaport Exploration Society Explorers are the heart of the organization. They are the ones who put their lives on the line, setting out afoot or aboard ship, traveling to parts unknown and making the discoveries. All interested parties should submit a letter of intent, so we can tailor explorations to the explorers, to the Help Desk.

    The Silver Seaport Exploration Society is a Society that has been rethought, replanned and rerenovated by Crystal Shores RPG Staff. This is not in any way affiliated with its predecessor, the long-defunct "The Crystal Shores Explorers/Cartography Guild."
