Writing Guidelines

1. General Form:
Generally speakng, it's a great idea to separate your actions from your dialogue. Most people in the RP use either stars (*) or parenthesis () to mark action, quotations to mark text, and italics or apostrophes to mark thought. For example:

*Sailor Moon arrived on the scene, ready to battle the Nega Verse, blah blah blah, etc, etc, etc. She looked over at Bob, the guy who just happened to be standing around for purposes of this example, and gave him instructions..*

"You should get out of here before you get hurt!"

That post in particular was fantastic because it was also very clear -- obviously, Sailor Moon was speaking to Bob, not to Joe, Jane, or John, who might also have been standing nearby.

Attack/Defense Guidelines:
If I have given you permission to play a youma or minor demon, it does not have the ability to destroy the whole city because, for one, none of the senshi were allowed those types of powers when I accepted you all. Obviously, the same general form is reccommended for attack posts, but please note the following example:

*Sailor Moon attacks the general youma inserted for this purpose with her weapon/energy attack/whatever/etc sending a row of exploding pink sparkles in its direction.*

"Take that!"

After that post, it would be highly inappropriate for the youma to not notice or dodge the attack sent after it. An appropriate response looks something like this:

*The youma (recoils/dodges) the attack sent by Sailor Moon and responds with an energy blast of its own -- sent, this time, to Bob, our innocent byestander.*

See how easy that was? ACKNOWLEDGE ALL ATTACKS SENT IN YOUR DIRECTION WITH EITHER A DODGE OR A HIT BEFORE POSTING YOUR NEXT ATTACK.

If you do not follow the attack rules and I warn you more than three times on acknowledgement specifically, there will be consequences. I get too many complaints about this stuff nowadays to just let it slide. Sorry, guys.
