Project Tail Lights

Before Pictures - First Look
Can you guess which pair I bought on ebay for $30.00? The originals are up top btw. I got this idea from www.hondaprelude.com and found Audax's website to help me through this project.
This is just to remind me of what my car used to look like. I think it looks pretty good, but even better if the orange would be replaced with clear color. You'll see...

Working Pictures - Putting It All Together
If you want to try this out, check out Audax's website first. His will include more detail. The difference is I used hot water in the garage tub rather than a heat gun. The trick was to dip it in the hot water constantly to keep the glue flexible. Good luck if you try it out. Remember I bought a pair off ebay to experiment on and in case I messed up, I had my originals just in case I need them. Maybe fix it tickets, maybe something else.
After emailing some people, most people are using flourescent lighting cover as a replacement for the turn signal lens. I went to home depot expecting to find a sheet of it. Instead, I found some funky stuff, but the one I liked happened to be genuine lighting cover. I ended up paying for an entire light system for $20.00. I figure I'd use the rest of the light system sooner or later somehow.
This is after soldering out the lens from the lighting cover. I then tried to file it down with a wood file because that's all I had. Ended up breaking off a big piece. Forget it. I was pissed. Dad gave me an idea to use a hacksaw, so I tried that. Worked very well on the long straight sections. The corners I used this good file and lots of elbow grease and patience. Remember not to break it or else you'll have to start over.
I believe this is a test fitting for the first lens. I only used a little bit of silicone on this one. The other tail light required more because it kept popping up. Looks okay though.

After Pictures - All Done

These are the newest pictures I have taken of the tail lights. I think they look pretty good. Others on the hondaprelude.com board have said it looks pretty good too. I'm happy and that's all that matters.

I'm just comparing the 2 tail lights outside of the car here. I just got a little crazy with the digicam, that's all. It's a good difference though. I like them better than the altezza or clear lens option. It's also kind of original.
