  • Alpine CDM-7834
  • 35 watts x 4
  • 1 preamp output
  • cd changer

Notes - Every stereo system has to start off with a good head. I have an Alpine CDM-7834. I have no idea whether this head unit is good or not, but it came with the car, so I'm happy with that. It has one preamp output which is enough for me to add an amp and possibly a subwoofer.

  • Infinity Kappa 60.1cs Components
  • Power handling 120w/60 watts RMS
  • Frequency 50Hz - 20kHz
  • Sensitivity 89db
  • nice speakers, but top of the line is now perfect6.1
  • Co-Injection Molded Cones bond the cone to the surround during the molding process, eliminating the glue joint found on virtually all other brands.
  • A revolutionary Ceramic Composite Tweeter is used offering incredible high end extension and sonic detail flawless to 20kHz.
  • Laboaratory Optimized Passive Crossovers precisely divide frequencies between the tweeter and mid/woofer to ensure optimum imaging.

Notes - These speakers sound great. I don't hear any distortion at all. I'm very pleased. It's amazing these speakers can put out a surprising amount of highs and lows. I recommend these to anyone.

  • Hifonics Zeus 440
  • $189 on ebay
  • 1 ohm stable
  • 55 watts x 4 channels into 4 Ohms (stereo)
  • 110 watts x 4 channels into 2 Ohms (stereo)
  • 220 watts x 2 channels into 4 Ohms (bridged)

Notes - I plan to use this amp to power the infinity kappas and bridge the other 2 channels for maybe a 10" subwoofer. Currently, I'm bridging 2 channels for my cousin's bazooka. It puts out decent bass, but I think the sub would be 5x better. We'll see.

  • JL Audio 10w0
  • Massive six-layer (4 & 8 Ohm models) or 8-layer (12 Ohm models) voice coil on a Kapton former for superior thermal power handling
  • Patent-pending VRC (Vented Reinforcement Collar) greatly improves structural integrity and voice coil cooling
  • Large diameter, progressive-roll flat spider for outstanding mechanical control and alignment
  • Large-roll, foam surround provides superior centering at high excursions, and
  • A sealed polypropylene dust cap
I haven't yet installed this thing, but I bought a used JL 10w0 for $35 a couple days ago. I thought that this was a super deal, so I bought it. I'll be able to tell you how it sounds after I build a box for it and hook it up. Shouldn't be more than a couple weeks.

  • XLN Xtra Low Noise Car Amplifier Hookup Kit_4 channel
  • 5 meter length XLN Xtra Low Noise Interconnect cable(BAIP1201XLN)
  • 20ft heavy-duty Monster Standard 8 gauge red power cable
  • 5ft heavy-duty Monster Standard 8 gauge black ground cable
  • 16ft 18 gauge remote turn-on cable
  • 24k gold plated 30 amp AGU fuse and In-Line Fuse Holder
  • 24k gold plated waterproof ring terminal
Notes - This kit is very complete. It came with the RCA cables as well as everything needed to hook up the amp. I actually think I saved money by buying this kit. The cables alone are $50 and you still need the 20ft of power cable, etc etc. This helped out very much.

  • Monster Cable Ultra High Performance 401XLN Y Adaptors
  • Monster Design Split-Tip Center Pin
  • 24k Gold Contact Ground Shell
  • Patented Turbine RCA Connectors
  • Duraflex Protective
  • 100% Full Coverage Full Shield
Notes - I learned about Y adaptors when I was looking for an amp. I was really concerned because I only had 1 preamp output, but it turned out pretty well. The only drawback to 1 preamp output is that your fader control is useless. I can turn down the speakers with the fader and that's it. Useless, but at least I have 4 channels to play with.

  • Boston Acoustics CX6
  • Frequency 58-20,000Hz
  • Power handling 12-100 watts
  • Sensitivity 95db
  • 6-1/2 inch (160mm) two-way speaker and 13mm tweeter
  • You simply won't find another 6 1/2-inch (160mm) coaxial providing such a high degree of musicality and performance for the price.

Notes - These speakers were real nice when I just got them. The difference between these and the stock prelude speakers were like night and day. I was very happy until I guess I turned up the volume a little too loud on a song with a lot of treble and boom. I think the left speaker is popped from maybe the distortion. That's what a guy said. I paid about $79 or $81 at digitalwavez. It's a $105 now, so I guess I got it on special or something. I think Boston Acoustics are prone to blow, but I'm biased. I wouldn't mind those Boston Pro's, but they cost a fortune.
