Another unique day of weather led to another interesting race for the Cardinal runners. For the third straight year, the District 11 Meet was held at Anoka High School. However, this year, heat was not a concern. This time it was rain and lightning. The races were postponed over half an hour while waiting for the lightning to subside. Once it did, the boys were off and running. The Cardinals performance as a team was less than spectacular, being beaten again by Anoka, but also by Andover 55-57. Kevin Voss won the race for the fourth consecutive time, winning in 17:39.
For the Cardinals Brandon Heebink led the way, finishing second in 17:59, followed by Troy Dey in 6th (18:37), and Drew Ditlefsen in 8th (18:52). The Cardinals totaled 14 personal bests, 3 of which were veterans, 3 of which were rookies in their second 5K, and the other 8 all running 5K for the first time.
