For the second straight year, the Coon Rapids Cardinals had a great showing at the St. Francis Invitational. The Varsity finished 7th in a field of top teams in the area. Brandon Heebink (17:21), Matt Holton (17:28), and Jake Heidkamp (17:33) all ran times equivalent to sub-18:20 for the 4800 meter course. Justin Taube (17:44) and Drew Ditlefsen (17:45) rounded out the top 5 for the varsity. Quinn Sullivan was sixth, with a time of 18:20. Matt Sullivan pulled out of the race at 1 mile with an achilles injury.
In the Junior Varsity race, Isaac Huss won the race in a time of 17:33, to earn a Varsity spot for Princeton. Jeff Erickson was sixth overall in 17:53, and Drew Reiter was 11th in 18:17. The Junior Varsity finished 2nd. The Junior High race was nearly won by a Cardinal as well. John Kennedy was 2nd in a time of 9:29, earning a medal.
