As usual, the weather for the Princeton Invitational was slightly less than ideal. This year, however, was the worst in quite some time. The rain began around 10:30 and didn't let up until it was nearly 12:00. Around 1:00, the rain started again, but harder. The rain made the course very slick and muddy. The varsity had the worst conditions, being the last race. Every step was half a foot of mud or more. The top finisher was Brandon Heebink in a time of 18:45, followed by Matt Holton in 19:04 and Jake Heidkamp in 19:14.
The earlier races were much better for the Cardinals. John Kennedy finished sixth in the eighth grade race and Matt Sullivan finished eighth in the ninth grade race. These are the two highest finishes for a Cardinal ever at Princeton.
