One of the more disappointing races of the season was the Buffalo Invitational. Coon Rapids was without both of their captains due to injury and illness. The team finished 14th out of 18 in the varsity race. The top 4 finishers for Coon Rapids were all within 9 places of each other: Pat Charlesworth-61st, Ben Dubay-65th, Jake Heidkamp-68th, and Brandon Heebink-69th.
What also made this a disappointing race was the fact that nobody received an award in any race. Jeff Erickson was the top finisher in the junior varsity race and Drew Ditlefsen was the best finisher for Coon Rapids in the junior high race.
