At the 1999 Apollo Invitational, the Coon Rapids boys team placed 8th out of 11 teams. Senior captain Matt Tucker had the best individual race with a time of 17:56 and receiving a 14th place medal. The first place team in the varsity race was Sartell, whose top finisher was Mike Marschel with a time of 17:03.
Also receiving awards were Freshmen Jake Heidkamp and Brandon Heebink, who finished 2nd and 3rd in the junior high race. Coon Rapids finished 5th in that race.
