| Marangu Route(Seven Days) |
| Day 1. Depart Nairobi for Tanzania via Namanga border ( Lunch at Arusha) and then to your campsite making final preparations for your climbing. Overnight at Arusha Resort Centre. Day 2. Walk through the rain forest for approximately 4 (four) hours to Mandara Hut (9000ft). Day 3. Trek accross rolling moorlands for approximately 5(five) hours with overnight at Horombo hut (12,450ft). Day 4.Walk for approximately 6 (six) hours through giant groundsel and up to the Kibo Saddle travesing the Alphine Desert between Kibo and Mawenzi Peaks (15,450ft.) Day 5. Leaving shortly after midnight the tough 5 (five) hours climb is up Ivose Scree. Arrive at Gillman's point just as dawn breaks and then the final ascent to Uhuru peak. Later retun to Kibo and Horombo hut (19,340ft) Day 6. An easy descent to Marangu gate. Transfer to the campsite for overnight at Arusha Resort Centre. Day 7. After breakfast, leave for Aruhsa (lunch) and eventually Nairobi arriving in the evening. Cost per person is USD 945 plus USD60 (return shuttle) thus total is USD 1005 |
| Day 1. Deparrt Nairobi for Tanzania via Namanga border ( lunch at Arusha) and then to your campsite making final preparations for your climbing.Overnight Arusha Resort Centre. Day 2. Walk through the Machame rainforest for 6 hours to your campsite in the giant heather (10000ft) Day 3. Trek for approx ...6 hours up to the Shira plateau.(12,500ft) Day 4 Climb and descend steep ridges with spectacular views of the glacier to Barranco during a 6 hour walk (12,795ft) Day 5 Follow the Kibo southern Circuit upto Barafu "ice" hut after 6 hours walk. Day 6 Leaving shortly after midnight, the tough 5 hour climb is up loose scree. On a starlit night there are views to the town and villages below. Arrive at Hans Meyer Peak at 18,340ft at dawn. Then the finall ascent at Uhuru peak(19,340ft). After photographs, return to Barafu for a short rest and then descend for about six hours to Mweka valley. Day 7 An easy descent through the rainforest to Mweka village. Transfer to your base hotel for celebration. Overnight at Arusha Resort Centre. Day 8.After breakfast leave for Arusha arriving in time for lunch.and later to Nairobi arriving in the evening. Cost Per Person USD 1080 plus USD60(return shuttle) which totals to USD1140 |
