            1) Using at least 4 out of the 5 senses (sight, sound, smell,

            taste, touch), create a poem that captures where you are

            at right now (this could be the place where you are

            physically at such as school, home, competing in a game

            Or your state of mind Or a combination)

 

            Your poem will be between 15-25 lines total.

 

            2) Please try to give your poem a title that is not just

            This is Where I Am Now.

           

            3) You must turn in your Final Draft.

                        (This is Where I Am Now)

 

                 Bone-shaking bass

                 Vibrates my body and fills my ears 

                 With booming, thick sound.

                 Manufactured, distilled aerosol mist,

                 Pierces my nose with the sharpness

                 Of a sacrificial dagger,

                 Stings my eyes, mouth, skin.

                 The blinding, red light of realization

                 Etches twisted images into eyes.

                 Changes me forever, leaving me like

                 A stunned animal.

                 I spit the dripping, coppery, bitter 

                 Taste from my mouth

                 I thought I spat battery acid;

                 When I looked there was nothing.
