Presenting A Published Poem

DUE_____________

Find a published and appropriate poem (must be a published poem from an established poet--not your own for this assignment) and bring it in to share with class. No songs or children’s poems please! Choose poems that will not offend your peers.

Steps:

1) Read or share a brief background on the poet (1/2 page typed!)

2) Read the title of the poem and the poem to class

3) Show some type of visual that captures:

a. the literary devices (similes, metaphors, personification, onomatopoeia, alliteration, etc)

b. the assumed meaning of the poem.

4) You may make a video tape or use music to go along with your poem.
