| The Clown |
| Did you ever wonder why, A clown wears a tear and a heart below their eye, Or why their smile painted on so big and bright, Somehow does not seem quite right. Look deep into that clown's eyes and you will see, A clown who has emotions they feel like you and me, To the people around them they are happy and gay, Inside they deal as best they can with life from day to day. We all wear that clown's face from time to time, The people around us can find no reason or rhyme, We have a smile on our lips and a tear in our eye, We are laughing and crying and don't know why. The stresses of life we carry in our hearts make us feel down, But none of us ever see a clown frown, We put on our clown face and go on our way, Spreading sunshine and cheer to those we meet each day. So, the next time you are feeling down, Remember the face worn by a clown, Know that you are not alone as you walk life's line, We all wear a clown's face from time to time. copyright 2000 LM |
