The German Immigrant Trail Letterbox Series

Status:Researching

This series is to track the German immigration into Texas along the Guadalupe River. The trail goes from Indianola to New Braunfels, stopping at Victoria, Cuero, Gonzles, and Seguin. Each city has a marker, just like the one pictured above, commemorating this event and the coinciding founding of New Braunfels. The starting point for each box will be at that city's marker. I've used a variety of clue styles to keep things interesting, but you will first have to find this marker. Some clues tell you exactly where it is, and some are purposefully vague.
While researching this series, I came across a great and heartbreaking first hand recounting of one immigrant who travelled this path. I have devided the story into seven parts and put copies of the section that takes place in each city in its box. The first part will be found on this webpage. The stamps also relate to that part of the story. The finder will take a copy from each box. Once you find all six boxes, you will have collected the entire story.
If for some reason there is no story in the box, send me an email with the code word written under the lid and I'll send it to you.

Part 1: Introduction

Always be aware of the terrain, snakes and other dangers that may lurk where you are lurking.
