God had given me another beautiful child; O the joy and gladness that was in my heart, When I looked down and saw your sweet smile. ~~~~~~~ Your life here on this earth was very short, And you brought so much joy and happiness; Then the Lord called you back to Him, Filling our home and hearts with sadness. ~~~~~~~ I couldn't begin to understand the reason, Why we only had you for such a short time; And how that in just five and a half years, You could bring so much sunshine. ~~~~~~~ You touched the hearts of so many, With your precious smile and curious ways; But it has been these memories, That has helped us thru the lonely days. ~~~~~~~ Now that you are with the Lord, No one could ever take your place; But I am so thankful to God everyday, When I see my little girl's smiling face. ~~~~~~~ Our hearts are still lonely and sad, And somedays are still hard to bear; But it won't be very long 'till we will be, Together again, on heaven's bright shore. ~~~~~~~ Lucy T.
