Chloe, were here. Mike gently shook Chloes shoulder. Somewhere during the ride home she had fallen asleep. She jerked awake and threw herself away from the man in a panic.

Chloe, calm down! Mike gently kept a hold on her arm.

Mike? Chloe blinked and looked around. She was in the van, with Mike. Safe. She breathed a sigh of relief and leaned her head back on the headrest, closing her eyes.

Chloe, its been a long day, cmon, lets get you to bed. Mike gently ushered her out of the car. She nodded numbly and allowed him to gently pull her into the building.

Do you have your key? Mike asked, pulling out his own. She nodded and with shaking hands pulled hers out.

Breath. He instructed as he led her into the elevator. Chloe leaned against the back of the elevator, memories of her past life flooding back to her.

Chloe, were here. Mike wrapped an arm around her shoulder and led her to her room. Noticing he wasnt going to get much other than a blank stare out of her, he took her key and opened the door.

You gonna be okay? Mike asked unsurely.

Yeah, Ill be fine. Just need a little rest, thats all. Chloe smiled wearily.

Here, thought you might need this.

Thanks. She took her purse from Mike and shut the door, bolting everything possible to ensure her safety. She leaned her back against the door and sighed heavily.

What am I going to do.? She muttered, sinking to the floor. She jumped as she heard a faint ringing sound coming from next to her.

Relax, Chloe, its just the phone. She assured herself, digging through her purse. A few seconds later she fished out an ice blue cell phone and hesitated when she realized she didnt know the number listed on the caller ID. She pressed a button and held it up to her ear.

H-hello?

Chloe? Hi.

Chloe let out a breath she didnt realize she was holding. She pushed herself off the ground and made her way to the bed, where she fell down onto her back.

Hi Chris, sorry about taking so long. I thought it was somebody else. She laughed nervously.

Its okay. Hey, I was wondering, because its not too late, you wanna go get some dinner or something? Chris nervously twisted the hotel phone cord around his finger. Why was he so nervous? He didnt know. He was just going to see Chloe again to catch up with her. Nothing else, it wasnt a date.

Ummm..sure. Chloe said softly. Truth was, she needed someone to be with her right then. She didnt want to be alone. She heard Chris breath a sigh of relief.

Great, where are you staying? Ill pick you up.

At the Hilton Hytt, room 234. Chloe informed him. She heard him pause and she swore she could hear a door shut through the phone.

Chris? She asked unsurely. She was met with a dial tone. She gulped and hung up the phone.

Its okay, we probably just got disconnected. Hell call back. Chloe reasoned, sitting up on her bed. A loud knock on the door scared her. She screamed and hid her head. She whimpered, fear that Frank could have found her causing her to do so. A voice on the other side of the door told her otherwise.

Chloe? Are you okay? Its just me!

Chris? Chloe uncovered her head and slowly made her way to the door. She cursed the fact that the door didnt have a peephole and pressed her ear to the door. She heard some shuffling, but that was all. She sucked in her breath as she undid the locks and chains before yanking the door open. Sure enough, Chris was standing there, cell phone in hand, grinning like a cat. Chloe offered a half smiled and moved so he could step inside.

You scared me. She said bluntly, shutting the door behind her.

Sorry. Chris chuckled and fell back onto her bed, hands folded behind his head.

Make yourself at home. She said sarcastically. Chris pouted.

Ouch, that hurt. He placed a hand over his chest.

Youre hearts on the other side. Chloe giggled. Chris tried unsuccessfully to cover up his mistake.

Yeah, I knew that, but I wasnt trying to put it there. He faked an angry face. Chloe rolled her eyes and sat beside him. He sat up and threw an arm around Chloes shoulders. She wanted to pull away. But forced herself to sit still.

What are you doing here? Chloe finally asked. She swore she could still feel her heart pounding. Chris shrugged, a mischievous smile on his lips.

We were staying at the same hotel, so I decided to surprise you.

Is that so? Chloe smiled faintly and looked up at him.

So.we have nothing to do for the rest of the night, do you wanna go get something to eat? Chris asked anxiously, kicking his feet over the edge of the bed like a child. Chloe looked at her watch.

Now? Its almost nine? Isnt that a little late? Chloe raised a skeptical eyebrow. Chris shook his head.

Nah, we could find somewhere to eat. Chris jumped up and grabbed Chloes hands in his.

Cmon, lets go! He said happily, pulling her towards the door. Chloe giggled at his antics, her fears flying out the window.

Hold on, let me grab my purse. She grabbed the small bag that was discarded on the floor (assumingly after Chris jumped on the bed) and went to join him by the door.

Ready?

Ready.

Chris offered his arm, which she accepted only after a second of hesitation.

To OZ? Chris made a manly voice and puffed out his chest. Chloe laughed, and nodded.

To OZ. She confirmed, nodding her head. She couldnt remember any other time she felt this safe. It was comforting, and she vowed to push her troubles away for the time she was together with Chris.
