Chapter Seventeen

Lances Point of View

I stood up, looking at Saras sleeping form, and sighed deeply. It was too bad. I almost had feelings for her. But, oh well. A guys gotta do what a guys gotta do, I guess.

I silently crossed the room in one swift motion and pulled open the door, then soundlessly closed it. I hurried down the silent hall and pushed open the side door leading outside. Pulling my jacket closer to my body, I walked out into the darkness.

Ive been waiting for you. A cold voice said.

I turned around to see Josh standing there.

Hey, man. I said.

Did it go as planned? He asked.

Yeah. I replied, sighing deeply. I proposed, and she said yes. But Josh...

What?

Im having second thoughts about this. When I told Sara that I loved her, I-I really meant it. She means the world to me. And... I dont think I can lie like this anymore. I love her too much.

A sharp blow to the head made me gasp. I tasted blood, and my nose felt strange. You WILL cooperate, Lance. Josh ordered. You WILL go through with this plan. He pushed me to the ground and kicked me. Dont make me do anything Ill regret. He added. Well talk tomorrow.

I lay there on the cold ground, listening to the steady sound of his fading footsteps.

I was suddenly scared, so scared. I didnt want to hurt Sara. She was amazing, and I loved her. I was complete with her.

I wearily climbed to my feet and stumbled back into the warm hotel. I walked back to the room, and entered it, leaving the door open.

Sara, wake up! I said.

Lance? Wha-whats wrong? She asked groggily, sitting up in bed.

Sara, we need to pack. Now.

What? Where are we going?

Its Josh. Ill-Ill explain it all to you in the car.

Sara stared at me, her eyes wide. Where are we going?

I have no idea, but were getting the hell away from Josh while we still can.

Preciouss Point of View

I knocked softly on Amandas door. She pulled it open right away, and I could tell that she had been crying. Precious? What-

I entered the room, putting a finger to my lips, and shut the door behind me, locking it securely.

Amanda, Josh has gone insane.

What? He already is insane! She replied.

No, I mean really insane. Like, insane enough to kill somebody. So hurry up, pack quickly. I already have. I informed her, holding up my bags. Josh left, but he could be back at any second. And we need to be gone by then.

Amanda finished gathering her things and followed me out the door. Lance? Sara? What are you guys doing here? I asked the two, who were waiting for the elevator. Their bags were also packed.

Were leaving. Josh is crazy. I take it youve found that out?

I nodded. Were leaving too.

You can come with us, then. Lance said.

Amanda and I nodded in agreement and followed them onto the elevator. This was going to be one long night.

Joshs Point of View

Where the hell was everybody?! I tore through my hotel room in a rage.
Amanda, Sara, and Lances things were all gone, as were Preciouss. Then I found a note.

Josh,
Im leaving. I have had enough of you and your sick mind. Dont look for me because I will be going someplace far, far away from you. But even though youve hurt me, I still love you and I always will.

~Precious~

I screamed in frustration and stomped out of the hotel room. I then entered Justins, where he and Vanessa were watching television.

EVERYBODY LEFT! I screamed like a madman. MY PLAN IS RUINED!

Justin stood up and walked over to me slowly.

Josh, its ok. Why dont you calm down and well talk about it. He told me.

No.

Josh-

NO.

Josh, I-

NO! I grabbed a knife that was in their mini kitchen. We are not talking about it.

Josh, please put the knife down. Justin said cautiously. We dont have to talk about it. Just please put the knife down.

Shut up, Justin. I snarled.

Please, Josh. Vanessa begged. Listen to Justin.

You really shouldnt try to tell me what to do. I warned them.

Josh... Justin mumbled. What are you-

Holding the sharp knife high above my head, I advanced upon them.
