| ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ "The butterflies are pretty, but they fly too high." Alyssa pouted at her doctor. "Can you tell them to come lower, cuz they won't listen to me." "Alyssa," Dr. Smith sighed as she took off her glasses and looked at her 21-year-old patient, "Do you want the butterflies to come down?" Alyssa bit her lip as she nodded yes. All she wanted was to see the butterfly, it was very important that she did, but no one could seem to help her, so they sent her to a institute because it only seemed to get worse. "Then tell them to come down, try that." "I did, but they said not until it was time. They're driving me insane." Dr. Smith held back her laugh that was begging to come out. She had been treating Alyssa and her 'butterflies' for three months now and it was going nowhere, the butterflies where driving the girl insane, but she was already there in her opinion. There where no butterflies at all that could be seen and Alyssa seemed oblivious to everything around her except when someone offered help, other wise she was trying to get them to leave her alone. "Alyssa, you must fight the butterflies. Tell them that they are not the boss of you, tell them that you are the boss of you." Alyssa looked at her doctor leeraly, "I won't work, I can guarantee that to you." There was a brief silence before the small buzzer went off signaling that their session was over. A rather large man in white walked over to Alyssa and escorted her out. Slowly the two walked down the halls. "You have a visitor today Alyssa. Would you like to see him?" She looked up at him with a smile, "Who is it?" He smiled back at her, he liked her. She was a good kid in his opinion and the butterflies where important since they have been with her all her life. "I'll give you three guesses, ok?" She eagerly nodded and thought, "Is it mommy?" she asked with a worried face. He shook his head no and cringed inwardly, he hated her mother, she was so mean to her daughter. "Nope guess again." "Good thing it's not mommy. I don't like her anymore, she's mean." "I know, now what's your next guess." "Is it daddy?" She jumped up a little with his name; she was always daddy's little girl. He gave a small chuckle; her father was a wonderful man who was against this all along. "Not this time. Try again." She frowned as she thought, "It's not mommy or daddy, so is it…. Hmmmm." "You give up?" She sighed as they reached her room, "Yea, who is it Mike?" "Take a look." He smiled as he pushed her room door open. Her face lit up when she saw who it was. "JC!" she squealed as she ran over to her dearest friend. He laughed some as he engulfed her in a hug; it wasn't very often that he was able to see her so he was loving every moment of it. The guard gave a small laughed as he watched the two friends interact. Carefully JC placed her back down at sat on the bed next to her. "So what you been up to around here Alyssa?" Her smile left her leaving a straight face, "They think I'm insane because of the butterflies." He hated this part of their conversations; he knew she seemed harmless but the one incident proved him wrong, ~*~*~Flashback~*~*~ "Alyssa!!" he yelled as he entered her small apartment. It was dark, so he switched on the lights. "Alyssa?!" Slowly he walked towards around the small living room/kitchen. He couldn't seem to find her there so he opened up her room door. Carefully he switched on the light, "Alyssa?" He heard a small movement and looked over towards her bed by the wall. She was curled up in a ball in the far corner with a butcher knife in hand. "Alyssa?" She looked up in fear at him. "They won't go away. Why won't they leave me alone?" her voice was so childish as small tear made it's way down he swollen looking cheek. "What happened?" he asked as he slowly made his way towards her. "Please tell them to leave me alone. They're hurting me now!!" she began to panic as the tears quicken their pace. "It's okay now Alyssa, just put down the knife and I'll help you. Okay?" he began reaching his hand out towards her, praying she didn't try anything. "Please help me." She pleaded as he pulled the knife away from her grip. He dropped the knife to the floor and kicked it away. "What happened here Alyssa? Tell me so I can help you." "The butterflies, they got mad and - and they hurt me. I tried to talk to them and they got mad. They said bad things, they don't like me anymore." She seemed hysterical but she wasn't quite there, she was frightened. He picked her up with ease and took her out of the room. She buried her face him his chest, trying to hide from whatever was scaring her. He brought her to his hotel room and looked her over. She had some large bruises; a black eye, swollen cheek, rather large bruise on her side. Then there where a few cuts on her hands, they looked like they where from the knife. She was thinner then when he left about two months ago. It turned out she hadn't eaten in weeks, the butterflies wouldn't let her. It was then that her mother and himself decided that she needed help. ~*~*~*~End Flashback~*~*~*~ "They just wanna help you with the butterflies, they wanna make them go away so you can be Alyssa with me again. Is that okay with you?" He hated having to talk to her so slowly and broken down like she was a child even though she was old enough to drink, but after that incident she always spoke like a child and acted like one, she became one. "No, it's not." She pouted as she crossed her arms in front of her. " They've always been here, even when I was just little and - and they said they won't leave until the time is right. But their getting angry now and it's scary, they said bad things are coming soon." "Soon to who?" Mike asked from the doorway. "JC's friends. They said some one's gonna hurt them an-" she suddenly stopped and cringed. She shut her eyes tight and grabbed her head. She began rocking back and forth, moaning in pain, mumbleing the words stop it over and over again. "Alyssa?" JC reached out to touch her but was pulled back by Mike who had already pressed the call button. "What's wrong Alyssa? Come on tell us what's wrong." Mike said trying to get whatever it was to stop. A nurse came rushing in and shot her up with medication made to knock her out, it did anything but that. As the pain intensified her moans turned into screams and her rocking increased. Faster and faster; louder and louder until she yelled one final ear-piercing scream before she fell into a small heap on to her bed. The nurse moved closer with Mike right behind her just incase. Alyssa was just a small heap of a person on her bed, her breaths where quick and sallow as a small line of blood trickled from her forehead. "I think you should leave now JC. We can call you later if anything changes." Mike said calmly as he pushed the younger man from the room. "Is she ok? What happened?!" "She'll be fine, don't worry. I'll keep watch on her for ya. Now go home she'll be fine." He finished as he pushed JC into the lobby and closed the door behind him. "Hey, you done already?" Lance asked his band mate when he saw him come out. "Shut the hell up fag." He walked by him without even another glace. "What the hell?!" He asked himself in surprise as they walked out. |
