Dragging Alec into it

Chapter Six:

Alec and Max stopped in front of the fenced in area that was the Sector Police impound.  There were motorcycles and cars everywhere.  Alec turned to Max with a grinned.

“I knew there was a reason I love you.”  He winked at her, his eyes going back to all the bikes on display, seemingly unaware of what he had just said.

Meanwhile, alarms were sounding inside of Max’s brain.  L-WORD!  L-WORD! L-WORD!  She tried to shake it off, he probably hadn’t noticed what he said, it was the same sort of love he had for his television, she was sure.  If, by sure, she meant thrown into a world of confusion, that is.

“So…you know which one you want?”  she asked as they window shopped like any normal couple.

“Of course.”  He answered, turning his head to her with a smile, “You do too.”

“I do?”  she asked, looking back at the rows of motorcycles, “Which…”  Max’s voice trailed off as she noticed it.

Alec smiled again, knowing she had seen it.  “Since you won’t let me drive yours…I might as well get my own.”

“She’s beautiful, you’ll love her.”  Max said softly.

“Well, I do have a great deal of appreciation for beautiful things.”  He leaned down and kissed her softly.  “So how are we going to liberate my new baby?” he asked with a grin, lifting his eyebrows and grinning in anticipation.

They looked at the situation and started talking it out.

“There’s only a couple guards, it wouldn’t be hard to take them out.”  Alec pointed out.

“They’re spread out, though, it would be hard to take them all out before one of them saw us.  The last thing we need is to draw attention to ourselves.”

“Well, as much as I would like to just ask if I can have it, I’m thinking they won’t just hand me that Ninja without some serious bribery.”

“Alec, let’s stand somewhere else, we might look a little odd drooling over the bikes.”  Max noticed that a guard was starting to approach them and nudged Alec.

His arm snaked around her waist as he pulled her against him.  “Does it matter what else we drool over?”  he asked with a smile, leaning in to kiss her and allowing his hands to explore her body  as she threw her legs around his waist.

The guard stopped in his tracks and turned away.  “Considerate…”  Alec thought to himself as the guard left.

“Dear God…”  Alec thought to himself as Max rubbed herself against him.  He would wait a bit before telling her his idea, there was really no hurry.

“GET A ROOM!” a guard yelled.

Groaning in frustration, Max and Alec pulled back from each other and started walking away, arms still around each other.

“We might as well just kick their asses.”  Max commented.  Alec nodded and whispered his idea.

There were three guards on duty.  All of them jumped in shock when Alec started yelling.

“HELP!  She’s having a seizure!”  Sure enough, the pretty young thing was convulsing on the ground and the young man who should have been leading her back to a private room of some kind was on his knees beside her.  Two guards were beside them almost immediately.

“Flip her onto her back.” One commented as the other leaned over to flip her.  They didn’t notice Alec stand up behind them and they didn’t notice that Max stopped convulsing.

They were unconscious before they hit the ground.

“What the…”  Alec’s spin kick interrupted the third guard as he joined his comrades on the ground.

Max stood up and brushed herself off.  “Well, let’s grab your baby before a hoverdrone comes by.”

 Alec grinned.  “Be glad to.”

They were on their way back to Terminal City momentarily and as they pulled up to the Sector Checkpoint Max winced.  “We should have taken their cash while we were at it, so they didn’t think we were after a specific motorcycle.”

Alec just looked at her and shook his head slightly, reaching into his coat.  “You mean, this?”  he asked, pulling out a large roll of cash.

 Max smiled.

 Alec’s phone rang.  “Hey…no, haven’t seen the news…WHAT?”

Max watched the exchange in confusion and looked around for a TV.  The only one was far away, closer to the checkpoint, but that didn’t matter.  She could see it just fine.

She turned to Alec as he hung up the phone and called another number.  “It’s Biggs.”  They said together and he glanced at the TV she had seen with a nodd.

“Come on, pick up.”  Alec talked to the phone.

“Hey.”  Biggs answered and Alec sighed in relief.

“Hey, man, this is Alec, you’ve got to get back to Terminal City.”

“I just had a close call with the cops, I’m out by your place.”

“Your face is all over the news, get out of there.”

 The phone went dead.

“He’s in trouble.”  Alec turned to Max and they swung their bikes around, heading back toward Alec’s.
