| Bethany already knew that nothing about her wedding was going to be normal. All of her friends were from L.A. There were directors, producers, actors, actresses, bodyguards, script writes,
publicists, and her family seated on her side. On Drews side were members of both major and minor league baseball, his old college teammates, and his family. This was a wedding to
remember, she thought to herself, an actress and a baseball player trying to carry out an every day existence.
Bethany and her father took their first steps onto the crushed blue velvet carpet that covered the aisle. Her elegant snow-white dress swished with every movement. The veil covering her face, even with the small diamonds placed randomly on it, didnt mar her view of her wedding. The white rose petals on the carpeted aisle stood out like an unexpected snowfall on still-green grass. She heard people whispering about how beautiful she was. All she could do was to look down past her elbow-length gloves to her intricate bouquet of blue roses and small white baseballs for added color. She and her father finally reached the altar, her gaze never leaving Drews figure. Through her sheer veil, she stared into his chestnut-colored brown eyes. Who gives this woman to this man? the pastor asked. I do, Bethanys father said. He took his daughters arm from his and then placed her hand in Drews. He lifted up her veil, kissed her on the cheek, and put her veil back down. He then turned to go sit with his wife in the first pew to watch his only daughter get married. The pastor began his speech of how important the union of two people was and how lucky Bethany and Drew were that they had realized that they were meant for each other. Finally, he came to the part Bethany had waited for her entire life. Do you, Andrew Marcus Callahan, take Bethany Leigh Nichols to be your lawful wedded wife, to have and to hold, for richer and for poorer, in sickness and in health for as long as you both shall live? he asked. I do, Drew replied with a grin on his face. And do you, Bethany Leigh Nichols take Andrew Marcus Callahan to be your lawful wedded husband, to have and to hold, for richer and for poorer, in sickness and in health for as long as you both shall live? I do, Bethany answered. Is there anyone here that can show just cause as to why these two should not be wed? the pastor questioned from the guests. Let them speak now or forever hold their peace. Bethanys stomach twisted in fear. She felt a shadow looming over her and shuddered, unnoticeable to everyone but Drew. I speak, a mans voice boomed from the back of the chapel. Bethanys breath caught in her throat and she, for the first time since she stepped into the chapel, looked away from Drew. She turned to her side and saw Anthony. Anthony was her ex-boyfriend and had never really gotten over their break-up. What is the meaning of this? Drew bellowed as he turned sharply to face the back of the chapel. I love Bethany and I wont let her marry you, Anthony said with a cold glare in his eyes. And how exactly do you plan to stop me? Drew demanded. Everyone in the chapel froze in fear. They couldnt think of what to do. The shot rang out like a canon, the sound resonating throughout the entire church. Seconds later, Drew gasped for breath and fell to the floor. Bethanys dress was now spotted with blood. Bethany looked down at her fiance and back up. A single tear rolled down her cheek. Oh my God, Sara scoffed. Yea, Randi agreed. This show gets more, like, twisted every day, Amy added as she shut off the TV. I really thought that Bethany and Drew were going to make out okay, Sara nodded. Yea, this show makes me so mad. Im not gonna watch it anymore. I hate what they do to Bethany. And its all, like, so fake, Randi said. Yea, theyve killed Drew off, like, two times in the last three years, Sara commented. He always shows back up like nothing happened. |
