Prom Night By: Michael Dykhoff 7/4/01 Glossy lipstick pessimistic. Little fool. Get dressed, Do your hair. Youre so impressed, But they wont care. Walk through the door. Your heels click against the floor. Trip once and ut oh Maybe they werent looking. (Oh no.) A slice of heaven, A life of hell. She hides away in her shell. Why dont they leave her alone? She tries to fit in. But ends up runnin' home. The partys just started, She sits down in a chair, As everyone starts to stare. She doesnt dance, Cause she doesnt know how. She doesnt ask, Cause she knows better now. Then out of the corner of her eye, She sees the cutest most perfect guy. He looks at her, and then walks her way. She thinks that this might be her day. On the dance floor they dance and shout. She finally knows what its all about. The feeling in the back of her mind is gone. Because her heart is totally withdrawn. The time of her life is happening now. Her feet are moving to the music somehow. Mother said she was a fool. The kids make fun of her at school. But she doesnt remember any of that. She still cant believe where shes at. He swings her to the left and right. And then he's gone without a sight. Looking around she doesnt know where he went. It doesnt matter, because time with him was heaven spent. A slice of heaven, A life of hell. She hides away in her shell. Why dont they leave her alone? She tries to fit in. But ends up runnin' home. All of a sudden she hears a voice as loud as her beating heart. Its the man of her dreams, ready to tear her feelings apart. He slams her down on the floor, She tires to crawl towards the door. No one sees the fear in her eyes. No one cares about her pitiful cries. Covered in blood, she walks to the door. He follows behind her to give her some more. Leave me alone, is all she gets out. She cant even whisper, she cant even shout. All her dreams, crumbled on the floor. She cant even let out a cry anymore. Mom was right; I'm such a fool, I should of known about this school. Why dont they help me off the ground? Not even one person has come around. Everyone else is laughing like they always do. You wouldnt be laughing if it happened to you. Glossy lipstick... pessimistic. Little Fool.
