| The world has lost sons and many a daughter But HOPE rises proud above needless slaughter Hope for the righteous, the strong, and the brave Hope that for ALL - our freedoms are saved Hope that the souls now departed from life Will find themselves peaceful with freedom from strife Hope that the cowards which brought this about Can hear every voice with which the world will shout Hope for the future -- for children not yet born Hope that we can salvage this world in some form Hope that we all learn to forgive NOT forget We must care for each other and those not yet met Hope for mankind ... that he learns from above The way forward is not hatred but brotherly love For from all this terrible tragedy MUST come Hope for us ALL ..... without hope --- we are none Crue - September, 2001 |
